Cheryl Holt Dunnington named VP, Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer at Roger Williams
Cheryl Holt Dunnington, RN, BSN, MS, has been named Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer at Roger Williams Medical Center. She is a highly experienced nursing leader with a strong background in quality, risk management, patient experience, telemedicine, and operations. Dunnington most recently worked at Norwood Hospital as Chief Operating Officer, where she oversaw numerous departments including Quality, Rehabilitation Services, Respiratory Therapy, and Patient Safety. At Norwood, she previously served as Director of Quality and Patient Safety.
During her career, Dunnington has held numerous roles including Operations Director, eICU, Director of Nursing Quality, and a variety of nurse manager roles in Surgical Intensive Care, Critical Care, Acute Care Inpatient Services, and Telemetry. She has held leadership positions at larger systems like UMass Medical Center and Boston Medical Center and smaller institutions like Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, Southwood Community Hospital in Norfolk, Mass., and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, Mass. Dunnington received a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Simmons College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston University School of Nursing. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American College of Health Care Executives, Organization of Nurse Leaders, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
