Nurses recognized as Employees of the Year at CharterCARE hospitals
Two long-serving nurses -- Sara Sgro, RN, and Antonietta Labbadia, RN -- have been named 2017 Employees of the Year for CharterCARE's hospital affiliates.
Sara, an OR nurse for almost 38 years, has been named the 2017 Roger Williams Medical Center Employee of the Year. She was recognized not only for her excellent nursing skills but for shaping the next generation of nurses as a preceptor, educator, and mentor. Sara is pictured in the middle of the photo on the bottom left with Lisa Kiley, Director of Perioperative Services at Roger Williams, and Demetra Ouellette, Roger Williams’ President.
Antonietta Labbadia, RN, was recognized as the 2017 Fatima Hospital Employee of the Year at a ceremony on January 23. Antonietta is a Registered Nurse in the 2 Center Adult Psych department at Fatima and has been with the hospital since 1988. This is the second year in a row that one of our Behavioral Health team members was named Fatima Employee of the Year (Lead mileu therapist Yvonne Britto was last year’s honoree.) Antonietta is pictured in the center of the photo on the bottom right with Lynn Leahey, RN, Fatima's Chief Nursing Officer, Darlene Kershaw, RN, System Director of Behavioral Health, Rebecca McHoul, RN, clinical nurse manager of 2 Center, and David Kobis, Fatima President.
Both nurses will be recognized later this year along with other honorees from hospitals around the state at the Hospital Association of Rhode Island’s “Celebration of Excellence”. Congratulations to both of these role models!
