May 24, 2010 — Michael E. Conklin, Jr., CPA, Named Vice President of Finance/
CEO for CharterCARE Health Partners

Michael E. Conklin, Jr., CPA has been named Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for CharterCARE Health Partners, the corporate parent of Roger Williams Medical Center and St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island. Conklin joins CharterCARE from Partners HealthCare in Massachusetts where he served as the Senior Vice President of Finance at Faulkner Hospital. He also served as acting President/Chief Executive Officer of Faulkner for several months in 1994.

During his tenure at Faulkner, Conklin was instrumental in the standardization of financial services throughout the Partners’ system. He was also responsible for the design and implementation of a financial forecasting model which was integrated into the system’s strategic planning process. Conklin received his MBA from Suffolk University and a BS/BA from Northeastern University.

Conklin serves on a number of health care boards and committees and belongs to several finance and accounting organizations. He is a Board Member of Bethany Healthcare, a member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association Committee on Finance, a Fellow in the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants.
