CharterCARE golf tournament raises $200,000 for cancer program

On May 9, more than 260 golfers teed off at three separate courses in the first-ever CharterCARE Health Partners Golf Classic. The tournament raised more than $240,000 for cancer care services across the CharterCARE system, including funding for outreach, treatment and advocacy for the Alice Viola Breast Care Center at Fatima Hospital, as well as the continued expansion of the Adele Decof Cancer Center at Roger Williams Medical Center.
The tournament was sponsored by Universal Ambulance Service. John Mathews, President of Eident Sports Marketing in Providence, was the chairman of this year’s event.
“We are so grateful for the tremendous response and support from local companies, vendors, physicians and friends who all made this event so successful,” said Kenneth H. Belcher, President and CEO, CharterCARE Health Partners. “While it was a great gathering and day, the true beneficiaries are thousands of cancer patients who will have even greater access to enhanced services across our system thanks to everyone’s involvement and generosity.”

The CharterCARE Health Partners Golf Classic, held on May 9, netted close to $200,000 for cancer programs across the CharterCARE system including funding for the Alice Viola Breast Care Center at Fatima Hospital and the Adele Decof Cancer Center at Roger Williams.
