CharterCARE Welcomes New Thoracic Surgeon

Mohammad Abdallat, M.D., a fellowship-trained thoracic surgeon, has joined the CharterCARE system.

He completed a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital - Harvard Medical School, and his surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Abdallat is a graduate of University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan.

Dr. Abdallat will lead the system’s growth and development of specialized surgical care for patients along the spectrum of thoracic diseases and disorders, including esophagus and lung cancer, mediastinal staging and tumors, thymoma and other thymic tumors, chest wall and pleural space tumors and conditions, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), paraesophageal hernia, achalasia and hyperhidrosis. He has clinical interests in lung cancer screening, thoracic oncology and minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery (VATS and Robotic). His research interest focuses on clinical outcomes for early stage lung cancer, sublobar resection, occult N1 disease and Spread through airway space.

Dr. Abdallat will be based at Roger Williams Medical Center and located at 50 Maude Street in Providence. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and is fluent in Arabic and English.
