CharterCARE Partners With URI For Annual Business Award

Published:

(Providence, RI)    CharterCARE Health Partners presented its 2nd annual Supply Chain Excellence Award to Ethan Tronkowski, a Senior in the College of Business at the University of Rhode Island. The award was made at the annual awards ceremony that recognizes undergraduate students for outstanding achievements.

CharterCARE has partnered with URI to create the annual award as a continuation of its ongoing relationship with the university and its business program, among other collaborations. CharterCARE developed an internship program and has hosted eight URI students over the past five years. This includes a junior in supply chain, Julia Newell who works in the CCHP buying department part time currently and will continue through graduation May 2023.

Greg Ventura, Director of Supply Chain for CCHP, has been actively involved as a guest lecturer, partnered with the mentorship program, and has spoken in several classes on managing supplies in healthcare and in the pandemic.  Greg also participates as the chair of the Executive Business Advisory Board who meet with the supply chain staff/professors semiannually. As part of this committee the team raises funds to support students to travel to conferences, job location efforts, and other important training and education support. Through this award, CCHP helps to continue to support URI Business Degree and this needed funding.

CharterCARE created the Supply Chain Excellence Award in Healthcare to be given to a student who has an interest in supply chain management in healthcare and who has gone above and beyond in the field of interest. Ethan Tronkowski was awarded this due to his involvement in academics, multiple dean list, leading the supply chain club in various executive positions, and leadership in honors project through six sigma product flow.  Ethan grew up in NH and has relocated to North Smithfield RI.  He has accepted a new role in finished good planning; Product Operations Specialist for UniFirst Corporation.  UniFirst Corporation has expanded their support of healthcare in PPE, first aid, medical gloves, sanitizers, soap, and many other products.

CharterCARE is excited to continue to build on our partnership with this state university and this growing business and supply chain program.
