Critical Care Unit

Our CCU treats any condition which warrants cardiac or hemodynamic monitoring or close observation. A medical director or designee is on site each day. The patient population is primarily adult, the majority of whom are over the age of 65.

The prevalent diagnoses serviced are medical, surgical, complex oncology, pulmonary, and cardiac. Patients requiring cardiac bypass surgery are transferred to an appropriate facility.

Physical Description:

The CCU is geographically divided into two separate patient care areas designated as the ICU (rooms 1–8) and the CCU (rooms 9–15) respectively. The unit can accommodate 14 critically ill patients. Rooms 1 and 2 are equipped with reverse airflow. All rooms are outfitted with hemodialysis capabilities.

There is central monitoring at each nurse station, bedside monitors in each room, and central monitoring in conference rooms located between the two nurse stations. Each nurse station is also equipped with an ECG machine, a defibrillator, and an emergency crash cart.
