Our surgery team is trained and prepared to deliver a variety of surgical care, from minimally invasive outpatient procedures to complex neurosurgery. Our operating suites are home to the latest laparoscopic and video instrumentation, allowing our surgeons to operate in the most efficient and accurate way with minimal incisions. 

We boast a history history of firsts in surgery and excellence in care. Fatima Hospital was the first hospital in Rhode Island to receive disease-specific certifications from the Joint Commission for its hip and knee replacement programs. In 2013, Fatima was designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island for demonstrating better overall quality of care and patient results in this specialty.

If you require a hospital stay while recovering from surgery, Fatima is home to a dedicated post-surgical unit known as Care One, which includes 15 larger private rooms. Our nursing, recovery and support staff are highly trained experts on personalized care, with more than 80 percent of Care One nurses having received their Orthopaedic Nursing Certification, which recognizes an advanced level of knowledge and practice in orthopedic nursing.
